I'm afraid you are right. As much as I hate the idea, I am making the transition from Xwitter to BlueSky and will lose a boat load of connections in the process. Hopefully I will be able to reconnect with many in the new home.
Xwitter has become a dangerous brainwashing place and it will become worse before it gets better.
I've been on Bluesky for about a year now (since before it became popular). Despite the recent millions making the transition from Twitter, it remains, generally, a much friendlier, more open and positive space. So it is perhaps not surprising that it has become quite the hub for naturists of all flavours to congregate. Downsides are the inability to have a 'locked' account (which deters some people from being as active a they would like, due to work or family constraints), you can't remove a follower other than by blocking them (and blocked profiles can still see what you post, just not interact with you), and the notorious AI mislabelling of 'innocent' nude images as 'sexually explicit' (though appeals are normally upheld promptly, it is annoying!).Oh, and the DM system is very basic - you can't send photo/videos, and there is no group chat facility. In recent days, there has been an upsurge of people posting sexually explicit stuff under the hashtag #naturist - which many established naturist members quite strongly oppose. But, for all that, there is a growing and very interactive naturist community there, and the algorithms are far more appropriate than Twitter - you do generally see only the kind of content you are genuinely interested in on your feed. So I am now using it pretty much exclusively for naturist-related activity - my other go-to is MeWe (which is more of a poor-man's Facebook), although that has yet to become widely known and used - perhaps the recent increased censorship on Meta platforms may change that.
