I’ve set up a group on Facebook to discuss ideas for revitalizing naturism. It’s called ”Revitalizing Naturism”, of course. It’s a “private” group, so participants need to answer some simple questions when requesting admission. Non-members won’t be able to follow the discussions or find out who’s in the group. Prospective members should have naturist experience or a serious interest in learning about it.
Here’s the group’s description as posted on Facebook:
This group is based on the Revitalizing Naturism newsletter on Substack. As the name implies, it's all about why participation in naturism (in the U.S. and elsewhere) has been declining slowly for several decades - and that decline needs to be turned around.
Part of the problem is that many naturists have little contact with naturists in different countries, in different parts of the same country, or even in different parts of the same state. As a result, it can be difficult to exchange ideas with other naturists to make naturism more attractive to people who might be interested but have little (if any) naturist experience. This group can make the exchange of ideas easier.
Anyone who wants to introduce themselves to the group and summarize their experience with naturism is welcome to do so. But that’s optional and not required.
This group welcomes any naturist or anyone interested in naturism, but subscribing to the newsletter is highly recommended to anyone who hasn't yet subscribed. New posts appear about once a month, and I think a lot of good information can be found there. It’s free, with no strings attached.
You can find the group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/451345220938550/ Please answer the questions that are part of the sign-up process.
Facebook, of course, isn’t especially friendly to naturism. It can (and does) penalize users who violate the so-called “community standards”. Most violations involve posting images containing nudity that expose “too much” and aren’t sufficiently censored (in Facebook’s opinion). Posting naturist images isn’t the group’s primary purpose, but it’s fine provided the community standards are observed.
There are some good reasons for naturists to use Facebook. It has users from around the world. At least 100 naturist groups of all kinds are there, with sizes from very small to some with thousands of participants. Naturist organizations and groups from around the world have created thousands of Facebook “pages” that are about naturist clubs, resorts, nude beaches, and many other naturist topics, such as WNBR, naked yoga, young naturists, body painting, naturist travel, naturist magazines, etc. Participants in this Facebook group are encouraged to describe the resources they especially like.
From time to time I’ll post questions for group discussions. All group members are encouraged to post their own questions as they see fit - and I hope they do. The questions can be intended to start discussions, request information on naturism, or how and where to participate. Although English will be the primary language, anyone uncomfortable with English should feel free to use their native language and take advantage of Facebook’s fairly good translation capabilities.
I hope that using this group will allow members to exchange information about how and where they enjoy naturism, as well as to suggest ideas for naturist activities that go beyond just home nudity, nudist and naturist clubs, visiting clothing-optional beaches, or outdoor activities like naked hiking and camping. Those activities are all fine - but many more possibilities exist. Group members should suggest other activities that should be considered.
A wonderful initiative to boost the naturism....
